Op. Dr. Serdar Başer is an ENT (otorhinolaryngology) and head and neck surgeon based in Ankara. His practice centres on the nose — how it looks in proportion to the face, and how well it breathes.
He was born in Kayseri in 1986. After two years of studying mathematics education at Selçuk University, he turned to medicine and graduated from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 2012. He completed his specialist training in Ear, Nose and Throat – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Health Sciences, Kocaeli Derince Training and Research Hospital, in 2018.
In September 2018 he passed the written and oral examinations of the Turkish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery and received its board certificate. Rhinoplasty has been the main interest of his career, and he has attended numerous seminars and courses in this field.
How he works
As an ENT surgeon, Dr. Başer assesses the inside of the nose as carefully as its outer shape. Before any operation he examines the septum, the turbinates and the nasal valves, so that aesthetic and functional goals are planned together. Skin thickness, cartilage strength and any previous surgery are discussed openly at the first consultation, together with what can and cannot be expected.
He performs all consultations and operations personally and stays in contact with his patients throughout recovery — in person in Ankara and online after they return home.
Clinic
Dr. Başer sees patients at his own clinic on the 10th floor of Maidan Business and Living Centre (Maidan İş ve Yaşam Merkezi), Çankaya, Ankara. Consultations are by appointment.
